Who we are
This notice explains how GK Contracts uses personal information collected through gkcontracts.uk and related enquiries. Contact us at info@gkcontracts.uk, on 0121 798 3212, or at GK Contracts, St Bernard, Arbour Tree Lane, Chadwick End, Solihull, B93 0AZ.
Information we collect
If you contact us, we receive your name, telephone number, email address, selected sector and the information included in your message, together with any subsequent correspondence. Please avoid sending sensitive information unless it is necessary and we have agreed how it should be supplied. Our hosting and security systems may also process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details and access logs.
How and why we use it
We use enquiry information to respond, discuss proposed work and take steps at your request before entering a contract. Where applicable, we use information to perform a contract or comply with legal obligations. We also rely on our legitimate interests in communicating with business contacts, administering the website, maintaining security and keeping appropriate business records, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
We do not add contact-form users to a marketing mailing list merely because they have made an enquiry.
Who receives your information
Information may be processed by our website host, email provider and technical support providers where needed to run the website and handle enquiries. We may share relevant information with professional advisers or authorities where required by law or necessary to establish or defend legal claims. We do not sell your personal information. If information is transferred outside the UK, applicable data-protection safeguards must be in place.
Contact form and security
The contact form sends your enquiry to our email system. Anti-spam controls may temporarily use a protected representation of your IP address. We take proportionate measures to protect information, although no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Google reCAPTCHA
We use Google reCAPTCHA v3 on the contact form to help detect automated submissions and protect against spam. Google processes technical and interaction information, such as your IP address, browser and device information, and activity on the page, to assess whether a request is likely to be automated. reCAPTCHA may set a security cookie. This service is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. If you prefer, you can contact us directly by telephone or email.
Cookies and the map
WordPress may use necessary cookies for administration and sign-in. The embedded Google map on the Contact Us page loads automatically when you visit that page. Loading the Google map shares technical information, including your IP address, with Google and is subject to Google’s privacy information. We do not include advertising or analytics trackers in this theme. Any future non-essential tracking requiring consent must only be activated after that consent is obtained.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry information only as long as reasonably necessary to deal with the enquiry, manage any resulting relationship and meet applicable legal, accounting or dispute-resolution requirements. Retention is reviewed according to the purpose and circumstances; information no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your information and may object to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Contact us using the details above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would welcome the opportunity to address your concern first.
Changes and applicable law
We may update this notice to reflect changes to the website or our practices. Our handling of personal information is subject to applicable UK data-protection law, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 as amended. The website terms are governed by the law of England and Wales; this does not limit your statutory data-protection rights.
