Superstructure brickwork is underway at Shottery School, where GK Contracts is working on Speller Metcalfe’s project.
The superstructure is the part of a building above its foundations. As masonry progresses, the shape and character of the building become increasingly visible, with wall lines, openings and external details beginning to define the finished form.
Attention to the work on site
Brickwork is a repeated craft in which small details matter. Setting out, joint consistency and the relationship between adjoining elements all contribute to the overall finish. On a school project, coordination with the wider construction team is equally important to the way the package is organised.
Our involvement at Stratford School sits within GK Contracts’ public-sector work, alongside our commercial and bespoke residential activities.
Keeping information connected
GK Contracts is also using Fieldwire on the Stratford School project. The platform supports cloud-based construction site management, helping bring drawings, tasks and site information into a shared working environment.
We will share further project news as information becomes available. For enquiries about a forthcoming brickwork package, contact GK Contracts.
